My friend Jia wrote this short story about Kyrgyzstan in the most recent Carve Magazine. She was a Peace Corps volunteer there after we finished college. Her experience was a mixed bag, to put it lightly, but her story is beautiful- equal parts sweet and rough, universal and provincial.
